Last October, Croydon proudly celebrated Black History Month with a diverse array of events honouring the rich culture, history, and achievements of the black community. From inspiring talks and vibrant performances to art exhibitions, workshops, and family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone. 

Last year, Croydon will celebrate the pride, history, and rich diversity of the Black community. This was reflected in the year’s theme: “Reclaiming Narratives”: To get to a better tomorrow, we can’t just focus on the past.

The past is in the past. We can acknowledge and learn from it, but to improve the future, we need action, not words. We need to come together around a shared common goal to achieve a better world for everyone.
