The Croydon Independent Advisory Group consists of members of the public that can advise, support, and share ideas and issues about mental health in the community.
The current central focus of the group is to improve the experiences of black people in the Croydon community that relates to mental health.
We are currently working on different mental health projects that is in partnership with South London and Maudsley Hospital (SLaM) and in the future intends to work with various mental health organisations to make changes.

If you are interested, we are looking for members to fulfil the following voluntary roles:
We are looking for a fundraiser who has experience with applying for funding. As the fundraiser you will have an overview of the mental health projects to work with the chairs, to advise which funding will support the vision of the independent advisory group and assist in managing the budget.
We are looking for a secretary who has experience in taking minutes at community meetings. You will assist the project coordinator with mailing communications to the members and support with organisation of the IAG.
We are looking for a communications officer who has experience in marketing and promoting on social media such as: Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc… someone who is creative and reach wide audiences.
We are looking for a members to join the Croydon Independent advisory group. As a member you are an integral part of developing the mental health projects as your feedback about the experiences in the community will be considered to help improve healthcare services for black people. We are seeking people who are confident to give their perspective on the changes they would like to see in the community.
