Energy Advice

Our New Energy programme, Healthy Homes for all will empower harder to reach and BME communities by helping them have a warm home and reduce their gas and electricity bills.

This will be achieved through promotional and education campaigns, group training of residents and front- line staff and volunteers, and one to one advice and interventions, covering energy tariffs, bills and discounts, energy efficiency and grant funding for energy improvements.

The new programme will aim to dispel myths relating to the energy sector and energy use and increase resident engagement with their energy suppliers.

The new programme starts in April 2023 but you can contact us by email us at info@bmeforum.org

Turning appliances off at the socket could save you up to £70 a year

Almost all electrical appliances in your home, such as computers, televisions, smart devices and video game consoles, draw power continuously unless unplugged. Turn off the power switch at the socket or unplug appliances from the socket when they are not in use.
