BME Partnership Forum

The Community Development Worker’s (CDW’s)Service works with Black Minority Ethnic (BME) service users, local voluntary and statutory organisations who provide services to BME individuals.

CDW’s are a link between providers and service users. They are actively involved in a number of  strategic committees to ensure equality and diversity issues are included in service planning, development, commissioning and delivery.

The CDW project is run in partnership between Croydon BME Forum, Off the Record.

Four project workers cover specific age ranges.

These are: 0 – 35  based at Off the Record and 25 – 65+ based at Croydon BME Forum.

MOPAC COMMUNITY CONNECTORS PROJECT

The four main community connectors who will be working alongside the BME Forum to provide services for children, young people, parents and/or carers are:

  • The Centre of Change provides support to young people aged 25 and under, and their families. Through counselling, education, training, leisure and other relevant projects.
  • Croydon FM is a community led online radio station offering music for you. It is also the home of urban entertainment streaming, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Elite Development Football Club (EDFC) is a family run club with a strong ethos for youth development.
  • WalkwithMeUK deliver programmes/workshops to parents, families, carers and guardians to address destructive/harmful behaviours as a focus to strengthen and rebuild relationships within families/communities using the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) approach.
